As the site abuts a heritage building to its north, the critical factor in the design was to ensure the new façade composition reflected similar proportions to those found beside it. The use of glass walls and balcony forms allow for a successful transition between the old and new built forms. In addition, the top two floors are recessed, allowing the new parapet and façade to align with the adjoining structure.
